EMG Application Process
Females and males, of any age (minors under the age of 17 must have written parental permission to apply) and must not have an existing model or talent agency signing in the UK. We also assess, train and represent actors, actresses and other talented people. For further information please contact us.
First stage – Applicants are invited to submit an application by email and photographic entry. This should include two recent photographs (these do not have to be of professional quality). The age of the applicant, height, dress size (unless a minor) and location of the applicant (unless a minor). All applications are then reviewed by our professional panel. This can take up to two weeks. Please be patient and check your spam / junk email folders in the unlikely event that your reply may be there. Some email addresses are automatically placed into these folders.
Second stage – Successful applicants are invited to attend a professional assessment. This establishes ability to either be put forward for a place on the EMG apprentice books, main books or presented to an associate agency for potential signing. EMG works directly with a number of extremely reputable and accredited agents within both the UK and on an international scale. Please note, no guarantee can be made to any applicant that an agency signing will be offered at this stage. *The fee to attend this assessment is recognised as an approved industry standard rate and is available to book HERE – this is a deposit for booking. The full assessment price is £85. Please note THIS IS AN ASSESSMENT NOT A SHOOT – we do not undertake anything described as a ‘portfolio shoot’. Portfolios take months, often years to produce and can never be done in one sitting. The fee is to cover our time, expertise, tutoring at assessment along with two processed professional model polaroids.
3. Third stage – If successful at assessment you may be invited to a high end modelling training seminar with EMG Model Guru Cheryl Hughes *fee of £35 per invited model applies. In some cases we will invite you to a one to one training session in place of the group seminar. This only applies to adult models over the age of 17 years only. The fee for this is £58 and provides a two hour tailored tuition package. Both options include valuable training advice, guidance and information along with a final opportunity for our team to decide as to whether they wish to sign you to our apprentice books or put you forward to an agency associate. Previous applicants of our model and talent searches have gone on to become successful working on an international scale. We only select the best of the best to be associated with EMG and do not put every applicant through.
Please note; signed models & talent with EMG will be asked to invest in a required level of work ready elements which may include further photographic requirements for their model or talent book, a showreel video recording and further training. Each signing is developed in accordance with their skill and ability to progress. Each signing is given plenty of time to agree to the terms set out for them as individuals when signing their model management agreement with EMG.
Our best advice to avoid model scams is this – a scam is created by an organisation or individual who has absolutely no contact with the real industry. They have no clout and make false promises. It is important to understand that as with any career investment, be it in learning or financial, is rarely not needed. Modelling, acting, drama, dance and music if your chosen a career, requires training and development like any other. Never pay a fee to JOIN an agency – this is illegal. Charging a fee for a photographs is NOT illegal, but be selective about who you choose to take them and how much you are prepared to pay. NEVER invest in an individual website or folio – it is totally unnecessary – and even dangerous if for a minor. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
*The full details as above are constantly available on the EMG website. All applicants are requested to view and research both the EMG organisation and terms and conditions above prior to deciding as to whether to continue with the process. It is the applicants full responsibility to fully read and understand our process as set out on this website. Representation is not guaranteed to all applicants. Work within the industry is also not guaranteed even if signed with an agent.
- EM Magazine competition entrants will also be considered for the position of front cover as our overall annual outstanding applicant.
